Beautiful Like Me

This week’s topic is What event or time did you feel your most beautiful?  How did this event shape your view of yourself? Do your family, friends and children know about this event and how important it was? As I read and re-read this question and attempt to write about it, I keep having false starts.  I can’t name one event in time that made me feel the most beautiful.

I think that the truth is there isn’t a single moment.  I feel at my most beautiful when the Tribe is together.  I feel like I belong and that I am a part of the whole.  I feel like I am one piece to the puzzle that all fits together.  That is when I feel my most beautiful.  I don’t think I have ever really shared this because it took this post for me to realize it.  I will have to remedy that as soon as I can.  I want them to know how they make me feel.

I know that every day with or without them, I am more confident because I know that I will be going home to them.  I am more sure of myself because I know that they will be there.  Its incredible hard to write and explain.  But, I just hope they know what I mean when I tell them.

Please take a moment to visit my co-hosts Tricia and Amy.  If you would like to participate please leave a comment with a link to your post.

I agree that a sense of belonging truly feeds our esteem and confidence. I’m so glad you’ve found that.

I completely understand. I feel most beautiful when John tells me so or looks at me in a certain way that reminds me that he finds me attractive. I tell Sprite she’s beautiful all the time and I hear John do it too, so I know she’s getting the reassurance from us at a young age.

It took a while, but mine is up. I agree with your post. Family is our dose of reality, our security blanket and our cheering section. When we have a strong family to belong to, no matter how family is defined, we have a distinct advantage in combating the nonsense of outsiders.

I said this over at Tricia’s place, but my moment sort of dove tails with yours. I felt my most beautiful the day I became a mom. I felt overwhelmed with responsibility, love and adoration all at the same time. I’ll never forget it.

That is so sweet that your kids and your family makes you feel whole. I get that, it’s like your own little cheering squad.

Hey gals. I’m just checking back in to see if there’s a new topic for this coming Monday. I thought I’d try to be on-time for once on the next BLM post. LOL We’ll see about that!
