The Dad Card

The girls all know that he has it, in his back pocket…  They know it is there and if they push it too hard, he will have to put it on the table.  They know that once it is out there, there will be tears and punishments.  But, every once in a while, they go too far and he has to use it.

Last night, Bear had to use the Dad Card.  Privledges were taken away, tears were shed and feet were stomped.  I don’t think the girls realize yet that using the Dad Card hurts him too.  He didn’t sleep a wink last night after brandishing his ace in the hole.  I think I will make his favorite meal tonight, and hope that it helps heal some of the wounds from last night.

The Dad Card is so important. One day it will be part of their Mom Cards. Good for him. But how nice of you to make his favorite meal, and acknowledge how hard it can be!

Aw, hopefully the girls will be able to see past their own sadness and see what it does to him. Poor Bear!
